3. Children & Family Programs:
This project nourishes the bodies and minds of children and families and provides supplemental educational and social services. Volunteers can get involved in a variety of activities such as teaching and monitoring computer classes, reading and conducting story times, assisting with dance and English classes, art projects with the children, or simply sitting and spending time with the children that visit the dining room during the day. Volunteers may also accompany the social worker on home visits and conduct follow-ups. Artists, teachers, social workers, community health professionals, business professionals, and volunteers with computer experience are all welcome. Volunteers who want to develop a project are welcome to put forward their ideas.
Apart from a $40 one-off administration fee there is no cost to participate. Volunteers cover their own living expenses. Hostel type accommodation is available for $30 per week ($10 per week after 4 weeks service, Spanish and Latin dance classes, travel tour in the surrounding areas.

The projects we offer either require the volunteer to make a small financial contribution (participation fee), are free but volunteers are responsible for covering their living expenses, or provide complimentary accommodation and/or food.
